Kai Time On The Road
Kai Time On The Road is a culinary journey taking us on and off the road to experience fresh kai from the deep south pacific. Featuring rural iwi, urban Māori as well as celebrities and sportspeople, Kai Time is a broad appeal Māori cooking programme that is highly aspirational, yet stays true to its heartland roots.
Kua puta ano a KAI TIME ki nga huarahi o nga kainga maha o nga motu nei. Presenter and chef Rewi Spraggon takes us on a hikoi around Aotearoa. Into small towns, rural heartlands and top kitchens of New Zealand.
In this series Rewi will seek out great food, recipes and locals who make fabulous dishes from regional delicacies. Grass roots cooking at its best. A, ko te Amorangi ki mua, ko te Hapai o, ki muri.
Kai Time has a proven track record of producing quality formats for reo-rua programming, with a seamless blend of Reo Māori and English, with Te Reo made totally accessible to second language learners. It also re-introduces the culinary korero that have not been heard in the kauta for many years.
In series twelve we’ll have more delicious dishes to share and return our kai range to the islands of Polynesia (Rarotonga) and also amongst the Maori population of Australia. Tune in to Kai Time for a brand new series with fresh new flavours on a tipi haere through the tastes and sights of Aotearoa, Rarotonga and Australia.
